Test for Performance Rating with the FIDE Tables

1. 2601 is the Minimum Performance Rating needed for the GM Norm, 2451 for the IM Norm, 2401 for the WGM Norm, and 2251 for the WIM Norm.

2. FIDE provides lookup Tables for GM, IM, WGM, WIM Norms for 7 to 19 rounds.

3. The FIDE Tables have been prepared such that the minimum Opponents' Average is 2381 for a GM Norm, 2231 for an IM Norm, 2181 for a WGM Norm and 2031 for a WIM Norm, and that the minimum score is 35% for all titles.

4. Do not use for this Performance Rating test the top lines of each Table which begin with 2381. In this case the Tables will not tell you what happens if Opponents' Average is 2380, 2230, 2180, or 2030.

5. The following is an one-line example from the 9-round FIDE Table (Line 3):

9 rounds, including 5 title-holders, minimum 7 rated
ScoreGMIMWGMWIM
62476-25202326-23702276-23202126-2170
6. For the Performance Rating test, you can read the above as follows:
- If player score 6 in 9 rounds and his Opponents' Average is 2476, he will get the Minimum Performance Rating 2601, needed for the GM Norm.
- If he score 6 in 9 rounds and his Opponents' Average is 2475 (1 point less), he will not get the Minimum Performance Rating 2601, but 2600.

8. In the same way, you can test Chess Calculator for Performance Rating for the IM, WGM, and WIM Norms:
